Minister Tends Resignation After 2 Meetings

Yep, the Minister of State For External Affairs, Shashi Tharoor, met with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh two times today to discuss the IPL controversy. He remitted his letter of resignation after he was summoned to the PM's residence the second time.

Meanwhile and closer to us someone is getting ready to meet our Prime Minister for the eight time...

Beggars can't be choosers. This time he could not go with his resignation letter as "petard fizette" is no firecracker. Frankly, I have seen and heard of lickers but never one of this type. Nobody is born Minister of Finance!

India is a democracy where ministers resign when the Prime minister ask them to do so. In Mauritius, the PM is unable to revoke a minister or to ask him/her to resign. Sithanen has not resigned because he was waiting until the last hour to know whether he would get a ticket for the elections. The PM withheld the news because he was afraid Sithanen would either jump on the opposition's bandwagon or resign to run as an independent candidate. Who is the chicken in this whole affair?

@Kranti: That's definitely a new record he's breaking.

@Anonymous: Sithanen's joining Berenger would have made Ramgoolam's campaign a very easy one. Sithanen could still have run as independent if he had wanted after he saw his name was not on the Ramgoolam's list. I think he should have allowed voters in BR/QB to express their feelings with respect to his totally insane policies. Finally, didn't he remind us back in February 2007 of Chevenement's formula about what a Minister should do if he's not happy?

We have seen everything during this saga. Except one. A bit of self-dignity.

Just two links to enlighten you on the manners of Mr Taroor, who has been taken for a "sage" by media pundits of Dodoland... The "cattle class" analogy is very close to Navin's "sarett bef" in that he, the elected one, should have all priviledges. He forgets that it's out of our (tax) money!
