Latest IMF Staff Report is Another Big Time-waster

I’m definitely not spending more than a few minutes on a report (it’s not the only one) that says right off the bat that our economic performance was solid before the pandemic appeared. In 2020 COVID-19 caused a damage of about 100 billion rupees to the Mauritian economy while the GDP shortfall of the 15% flat tax (a Bretton Woods best practice implemented by one of the boys) between 2006 and end of last year was over Rs2.1 trillion. That’s more than 21 times the economic loss from the pandemic.

It’s no surprise then than the IMF/WB have created famine and failed to predict huge uprisings. How much is that litre of oil again now?

Tiger Ready To Pounce, Again

Indeed Singapore's economy clocked a 14.9% growth in the third quarter after expanding at the impressive clip of 22.0% in the preceding one. Although that will be insufficient from preventing the economy from contracting between 2% and 2.5% in 2009 you can bet which Tiger will leap furthest once the world economy start picking up again.

The prognosis for the Tiger-wannabe is of course entirely different. The crisis we're in here has been created by the toxic policies of Sithanen and Mansoor. So that as long as they gonna be around we're not going to go anywhere.

After Passing Controversial Laws that Make Firing Brutally Easy Minister Will Now Give Money for Not Laying Off People

That's the cosmetic response of our national bean-counter to a faltering economy he's been painstakingly screwing up since he returned as Finance Minister three and half years ago. And you can expect more about-faces like this as it becomes increasingly clear that an overwhelming number of Mauritians will vote ar zot lipye in ridings such as No. 18 in the next polls.
