Paul Krugman's remarks sound like a real warning to those who are tempted to quote endless surveys and reports whose interests are only propaganda-based. Here is a site however - http://www.gapminder.org/ where you will find unbiased analysis of data and where statistics take meaningful shapes.
That's a nice little toy. Played with something like this before: I believe some institutions had licensed the software from these fellas.
