On Thursday at the BOM's Annual Dinner in Honour of the Economic Operators. Didn't go. Was overworked. But just finished listening to it. You don't want to miss this.

Trop gourmandes, bankster, et d'autres épithétes pour les pauvres banques, ce n'est pas surprenant. D'autant que nous avons pas moins de 20 banques (page 75), et malgré tout, elles sont TOUTES profitables. Pas comme nos casinos...

I bet whatever amount you want that this plea will fall on deaf ears.

In an industry enjoying above-normal profits, which player is concerned about difficulties of the population? What if I wished that the spread were limited by law, for a start...? :-)

Agree too that there should be some kind of legislation to compel banks to return to Planet Reality.Mere speeches without any action are pointless. Otherwise, we would have seen results following the publication of Bheenick's Banking your future. The Cheque truncation project initiated under his mandate also did not reduce the time taken to have cheques cleared and credited to one's accoun(https://www.bom.mu/media/med)But yeah, we are happy he contained inflation.
