The Truth and Justice Commission was set up in March 2009 to look at the complex consequences of slavery and indentured labour. The thing is that this happened at a time when trickle-down economics – the closest you can actually get to slavery in a democracy without recall elections and statute referendums – was implemented in Mauritius for the first time. And this happened a bit after new labour laws which many have regarded as being regressive and have been fighting to get repealed since were passed.
Fixing the pain and injustice of the past requires the same two ingredients as good government: money and talent. Money has obviously been in short supply – there was at least Rs300 billion missing in the government till at the end of last year compared to what the flat tax was supposed to bring in – and so has talent. This has led to an expected deterioration of the living conditions of way too many people. Add the massive disappointment with parties that had members of Cabinet over the last 13 years and you have the recipe for another shock general election.

At the receiving end of unnecessary suffering, this person is exposing his life to see some form of justice for all of us. Let's hope those who have the political power show some will...
Funny to see Ramgoolam pay a visit to Harmon today.
Another visit today promising a land court. He better put this pledge in an affidavit.
Noyone shares, noyone likes, as they feel the need to stay in their own priviledge.
Then in 4 decades, we will suffer from climatic change.
Our generation is doomed to see their own children
1 . Stuck on the island with no means to slow down or resist extreme weather conditions
2. Assist to the destruction of the 5 star hotel on the shore and inland ( ex colonial owners)
3. While the children of ex colonials and all those who have plunded our island are having enough funds to construct a new life in other countries, our real islanders will be erased from the surface of the globe. Extinction like the dodo.
The government should now legally, through TJC (mugabe style.without murder)
1. Take some hotels from the private sector, turn thel into healing institute. We all need to heal from Post Colonial Trauma
2. We absolulutely need to raise fund to give the chance to all mauritians families to start a new life on all continents. Because it will take some.generations to adapt to new environment, keep our culture, which is truly unique

But never got people of influence to think about this possibility of preparing the future for our kids.
I have read, I have analysed very well and I know as a mum, following my instinct, what I need to do to make sure my lineage keeps going on and strong.
