How To End MEXA's Blackmail

Create an employment insurance program like Canada's. That won't take too long to set up. After all we did come up with 4 jours a Paris when hell broke loose back in the 1970s. And this time around we're a much richer country.

The other thing we should do is to go back to our progressive taxation system: that's a wonderful antidote to greed and inequality. And corruption.

  1. I used to work for a textile plant in mauritius, it was one of the first to benefit from the stimulus package and I must tell you this was a huge joke to all of us there who knew what the real situation of the company was!! the directors use company cars costing 16 millions rupees....this says it all.

  2. MEXA is taking full benefits of the achiles heel of Government: the fear of jobs loss a few months before elections. This is sheer blackmail indeed. In the process taxpayers money is being injected into poorly-managed firms. A strong Government who is so proud of its acheivements and so certain of its re-election should not give in.

Another one joining in the chorus in favour of devaluating the rupee... Just look at the timing of the question - quel timing!

  4. @Anonymous: Thanks for sharing the story with us. Plus ridicule que ca tu meurs!

@Kozemotande: Or we should break their back by setting up an employment insurance program.

@akagugo: Indeed, why should the whole country pay for the bad business decisions of a few?

  5. On top of employment insurance, a starting bonus for all: what can we take from this to reduce inequality?

  7. In Dodoland we are still being brainwashed with IMF-infused selective (read: discriminatory) subsidies. Why not fight egoistic exclusion by altruist inclusion - Basic income is a concept similar to the one being proposed in France?
