  1. For those who refuse to see the sunset, a helpful link to dispel any doubt about the dying trend.
And to reinforce the fact that all political parties to date have been at the beck and call of that same sunset industry, spending a fortune in terms of not only money but also unwavering efforts in obtaining useless finds from EU and what not to keep it going, at the expense of our land management, our local small planters and tireless human resources... all with the help of an army of Sirdars who keep repeating that the sugar industry must not die because it has been a pillar of our economy since time began.
    Heh, ar nou mem!

  2. Just checked one of the pieces there. Rajiv Servansingh thinks sugar has a future. Well he's a trumpet-blower of the bean-counter isn't he?

  3. U ki byin contan efisians, abé ala enn dé nouvo mo pou ferr nu vokabilerr amelyoré:
    - "trumpet-blower of the sugar barons/large conglomerates" = Sirdar (bean-counter in chief qualifies as Grand Sirdar)
    - "trumpet-blower of the bean-counter" = Sirdar (Izonogouds of sorts, because they envy to please the masters of the Grand Sirdar to hope becoming a Grand Sirdar themselves someday.

There is also a hierarchy of sorts of sirdarism, starting somewhere with the belief that devlopma is of the exclusive genetically-programmed capacity, or self-loathing to the point of spitting on their own mother tongue and desiring to 'upgrade' to a French car, to lying your way to justify trickle-down galimatia and/or any other policy that increases the stranglehold that the traditional pseudo-entrepreneurs have on the local population...
