Kind of sad to hear he died yesterday. Grew up while listening to his songs. He was married to Somali-born Iman. Here's one of my favourite Bowie songs: his first hit and apparently not written while sober.
Interesting interview of DB by Jeremy Paxman (one of the rare interviews I've ever listened of the starman -- there was no YouTube while growing up). And here's Iman being funny on a talkshow.
We're definitely more aware of a lot more things. And this has definitely put a lot of pressure on journalists when it didn't cause papers to go under. Being able to respond to what's published has also kept writers on their toes.
Have enjoyed watching Mr. Puri in so many films for so long including the quite pleasant The Hundred Foot Journey. He's a bit like Anupam Kher: a movie starts and you wonder how long it will take before you see him very comfortable in his role.
There is of course the Hadfield version of SO. Must watch.

ReplyDeleteAnother great one bites the dust...
