According to media reports of the press point of the PM yesterday. The report itself can be downloaded here. Just thinking aloud: why hasn't the duty free car privilege been cancelled and replaced with a bus pass?
Maurice, Ile Durable?
Maurice, Ile Durable?
You mean: this kind of bus?
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of logic gives MPs and civil servants extra-safe German cars and the general public extra-dangerous buses?
ReplyDeleteThese killers-on-wheels need to be taken off the roads and replaced by buses with roll over bars.
Or this same kind of self-iginiting buses?
ReplyDeleteIs it so expensive to phase out these wheeled coffins (or toasters, if you prefer) and switch to the ubiquitout 15-place vans/minibuses. Indeed, most Mauritians have adopted them as a clean (ever had a nice clothing smeared in soot or scratch with a rebellious screw in a bus?), flexible (they go averywhere, even in the narrowest 'main' roads) reliable (have you ever seen one stranded like the wheeled toaster-coffins?), fast (they accelerate as a 4x4, which reduces their impact on oncoming traffic) and safe (unlike the wheeled toaster-coffins, they have roll-bars, and do not catch fire as easily as the 8 in the last half-decade).
The clock is ticking, and those in power are still enjoying their comfort zone, and luring the common people with free sarétt-béf... Only dead fish swim with the current.
As we said elsewhere buses being considered by the CNT cost between 3 and 4 million a piece.
ReplyDeleteWe could consider 15-seaters but we might need larger buses in the main traffic corridor.
Free saret bef indeed. They are so stupid that they don't realise that a killer-on-wheel could end their lives prematurely any time. Or those of their loved ones. And then what will they say? We couldn't have known? Maybe they have shares in an undertaker...
With the details of the operational condition of the CNT buses given in parliament doesn't that make you wonder what has been going on for so many years at this crucially important organization?
