PM said on TV that we have to show that we've reached a certain level so we should be able to handle this. What do you think about "Mauritius punching above her weight"?
Er, yes, he's signalling to all people with legal background that new business will be about international law. But wait a minute: how will the pirates be captured and brought here, given that our NCG vessels cannot venture out too far: do we wait for them pirates to run ashore here, or on 'pays amis' to capture them for us? And who gets to reimburse the costs of setting up and running this thing here, and how? What do we, pép admirab dé Moris, gain from it?
After all the hubs we wanted to be, is this not a new 'slogan creux': Piracy Trial Hub? Ah Dodoland, can you walk the talk?
What if pirates attract more pirates and start reactivating our dormant volcanoes?Worse they could could create more craters at other 'trous' at trou-aux-bviches like the existiing crater 'trous': Trou Kanaka, Trou-aux-Cerfs! By the way, they can land at Trou Déviré which is not a crater lake but and islet rediscovered by former minister of Tourism!
