Si tou fim bizin ena enn certificat FCB, bein, eski tou portable avec caméra intégrée ou handcams pou bizin report to FCB sak fois ki servi zott asterr...? Chance ki ena internet et bann video streaming hosts couma Youtube, hein Mr Jagatsingh...? :-)

  2. I find it rather puzzling that the authorities had to use such strong handed methods to ban this film. It has had the opposite effect where it provided so much publicity that people wanted to watch it.

This video does not contain anything that has not been said or that is unknown to anyone. The fact that total drug consumption is about 60kg or that there are well know places where drug is easily available. These have been reported by various media.

What this movie really does, it packages everything in one and this is where it hurts! It show the ineptitude of our authorities and also, it is beggars belief to think that 60kg of heroin can be brought into the country without the complicity of someone in power.

At the end of the day, the way this episode was handled just shows how incompetent the people at the top are.

Drug is here to stay in Mauritius. It is the cash cow for so many people. The authorities only cry foul and implement cosmetic measures. If we can have someone who had been found bringing in subutex in the country but still being out on remand, nothing else will surprise me in this country.

  5. @Sanjay:
We will soon have another movie to show the human cost of gambling. Hopefully the movie will not be censored!

The authorities are not taking a holistic approach to combatting the drug problem in Mauritius.

  6. @ VikramG:
What about a short film on other "drames de la vie ordinaire" on subjects like:
    - road infrastructure: a perspective for economic and social development despite minor problems such as defective maintenance and road lighting, poor policing, lame insurance coverage providers, faulty layout/marking of roundabouts, arbitrary use/abuse of emergency patrolmen for so-called VIP's, why a BMW (or Mercedes) got split in half after taking off the motorway at St Jean, why a motorcyclist killed himself by failing to see a barricaded drum that was supposed to warn of a manhole construction in progress at night...

    Who cares?

If someone (like Mr Peerally) does, we now have confirmation that he is "scratching the back of misfortune"...

So when will be the next film? Are we good for watching only Bouba, Tintin, Kabhi Saas Bhi Bahu Thi, Rosa, Marimar, Voisin-Voisine, MBC-tv journal de 19:30, Dimanche c'est vous, and at most Dr House and some "cultural fusion" shows prepared by some genius from the Ministry of Arts and Culture?

  7. Finalement, Missié Peerally so film inn recevoir so certificat depi Film Classification Board.
About this film, The Guardian says: "The point of the movie is: do not even try crack or this is what it will reduce you to. You will not have any control over your life and you will live and die for the drug", while NPR says "The title is decidedly whimsical, but Crackheads is only funny for about the first 15 minutes before it descends into the rawest anti-drug documentary you have ever seen."

STRONG CAUTION to all viewers of the Dailymotion above: "Crackheads Gine Wild" depicts scenes and situations that may be deeply disturbing to one who has never seen people acting (frantic, disoriented, intoxicated, abnormal) under the influence of illicit substances.
