One Place World's Biggest Brand Shouldn't Be

At USD68.7 billion, Coca Cola is according to Interbrand the biggest brand in 2009. Nokia is at the 5th spot while Google is, at no 007, a whisker shy of McDonald's. BMW is ranked 15 while Toyota is no 8. Samsung is a bigger brand than Sony just like J.P. Morgan is more valuable than Goldman Sachs.

Surprised? Me too. I wasn't expecting to see that plastic bottle in one of our National Parks.

  3. Did you know that 1.08kg of solid waste per capita was disposed at landfill in 2017 every day? So about 1,300 tons every day?

  4. Er, why is that a surprise? Unless you hear that we are to start minimising waste by reducing unnecessary packaging (taxing this by weight - who needs 45% plastic wrapping on a single toothbrush?), reusing things (virtually anything, actually: ask Rodrigues or Brazil) or recycling (tiny Seychelles does it, but Dodoland can't?)...
But his demands guts, which is sorely lacking here, if you ask me, because, like the eaxmple of the Hazardous Waste Handling Facility that has become operational at La Chaumiere, between the composting plant and the municipal-waste transfer station: it is supposed to receive all non-compostable and non-landfillable waste, like your batteries, electronics, paints, oils, solvents, etc. but have you heard about it? Why do the Authorities apparently want to keep it a secret, while it is supposed to take in all the non-allowable wastes...?
