MPC Undergoes Makeover

This follows the recent review of Sir Alan Budd and -- shall we point out? -- our modest suggestion. So from now on the Governor along with three officers of the bank he has picked plus five people selected by the Minister of Finance  -- after, and that's important, consultation with the Governor -- will constitute the MPC. The five people chosen by the Minister must have recognised and relevant experience.

It is interesting to note that three of the five members nominated by XLD are foreigners and that includes a woman.

See Xavier's strategic moves on the checkerboard since MSM's departure from the government as analysed here (at page 4, password NBK9L), while another sees the move for disguising privatisation under the "strategic partnering" label as a parallel with shock doctrines...
But then, just after he nominates the likes of Pierre D. at the board of the MPC, and his own speech your best friends the GLD's are singing your favourite tune again! Strangely enough, a very different tune from hotels operated by foreigners surely raising eyebrows at MEF and MCCI which are still obsessed with the "strong" rupee...

Exakteman.

We should now get the likes of Jacques Mesrine.

Hein, ki nou ti pé dir...? The usual suspects (Xavier's nominates: Nishan Degnarain, Pierre Dinan, Alain Madelin, Kamal Taposeea et Silvana Tenreyro) are starting to influence things unduly... Already.
So, at the next elections in 2015, are we going to have to choose between pro-depreciation MMM or a pro-low-repurchase-rate PMSD?
