Less than 1 day after the latter said he would be staying till September. So 18 days of protest ended a 30-year rule which began shortly after the following event.

A nice recap of previous revolutions here.
Who's next? Yemen?

Who is next: I know of a small isolated island where people, on both sides of the political spectrum, have been around for 30 years or so?

Does this count as a good reason for protest? Should we have a rule in here thats says no one can stay in power or as opposition leader for more then 2 terms?

The author of the successful recipe for overturning dictatorial regimes is Gene Sharp.

In brief the key steps are:
* Develop a strategy for winning freedom and a vision of the society you want
* Overcome fear by small acts of resistance
* Use colours and symbols to demonstrate unity of resistance
* Learn from historical examples of the successes of non-violent movements
* Use non-violent "weapons"
* Identify the dictatorship's pillars of support and develop a strategy for undermining each
* Use oppressive or brutal acts by the regime as a recruiting tool for your movement
* Isolate or remove from the movement people who use or advocate violence

So, any volunteers for freeing Dodoland?

More state "leaders" getting restless, as in Saudi Arabia and Zimbabwe too...?
The contagion is spreading beyond imagination...

And now Oman too...?

While China shows its deep paranoïa, a bit like North-Koreans who fear this kind of news, especially when dropped in by their brothers from the South.

Nice infographic for comparing the relative rankings of these countries...
